Originally, the game was designed to be played online in Multiplayer mode using GameSpy. The installer for the game includes instructions and gives the option to install GameSpy Arcade. However, GameSpy Arcade no longer offers support for Praetorians game, since they have closed many servers. Instead, players can download and use GameRanger, which offers support for Praetorians multiplayer.

In June 2019, a remastered version was announced by Kalypso Media for a targeted release in fall 2019. It includes higher resolution, better textures, re-activation of the multiplayer mode. The game is developed by Torus Games and was released on January 24, 2020 for Microsoft Windows and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 18, 2020.[25][26]

Commandos 2 - HD Remaster and Praetorians HD - Remaster will release for PC on January 24, 2020. The remasters will get a console release too, with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch getting them sometime in Spring 2020. The games can be bought separately or together in a pack. Customers that preorder the PC version will get access to the closed beta on December 13.

Kalypso Media is working with developers Yippee! Entertainment and Torus Games to bring the old strategy games to modern platforms. The remasters will feature reworked controls, modernized UI and an overhauled tutorial. The Praetorians remaster will include multiplayer. 781b155fdc
